Equity in Conservation & Agriculture

[Para ver esta página en español, haga clic aquí.]

Equity in Conservation and Agriculture is a series of free workshops and tours aimed at filling the gap between underserved farmers or ranchers and access to the conservation programs, practices and tools indicated by USDA/NRCS for the management of working landscapes, the preservation of biodiversity, conservation of natural resources, and the mitigation of increasing greenhouse gasses. It also provides students with an opportunity to learn about recommended conservation in farm practices, possible career paths, and the challenges that farmers face today. The series is presented at the Cascade Regenerator Program in the South San Mateo Coast where Pie Ranch already utilizes several accessible planning and management tools for sequestering carbon and methane gasses. To better serve farmers, the workshops* and tours will be held from November to May beginning in 2024 and contintuing through 2026.

*All workshops will have classroom and fieldwork components and include lunch & refreshments.
